I started ice skating when I was four and skated throughout my youth. I've been rollerblading for over 20 years and have
been a sponsored racer, appearing on NBC Sports World. As I've skated I have always analyzed what I was doing while I was doing it. I've had the opportunity to teach many and diverse people. Faced with
this prospect, I had to develop a method that would impart to people the things I needed to teach them, that would yield successful results and eliminate confusion.. |

I decided to devise a method based on things people already knew how to do. The result is a solid, elegantly
simple way of taking people from beginner through intermediate to advanced general terrain inline skating, that has been tested and proven hundreds of times from San Diego to New York to Florida. I've taught groups with other instructors, and I've seen other instructors teach. I've
watched and listened as instructors argued with each other over whose method was better, and heard instructions given that included words like "weight distribution"' , and "balance
points". These were invariably received by students with blank, uncomprehending stares. The end result was that students usually paid for a lesson in which they made little or no progress. I had to
develop a method that would work for a toddler as well as a 60 year old and everyone in between. My unique, copyrighted method is the result. I have for example, taught a girl who was afraid to let go of a
lamppost for support. Within 15 minutes she was skating and braking with solid control, even skating up hills aggressively!! When we shot this video, a couple who had just bought skates and were going out
for the first time, saw us in the parking lot getting ready for the shoot and asked us what we were doing. When we told them, they asked if they could tag along, we said "sure!" and so they took
the instructions off camera as we were shooting. In between takes they were skating all around and were very excited about how good they were getting SO FAST! We stayed in touch, and they were our first
customers!" It was this kind of success that prompted me to make this video, so that these unique instructions could be made widely available. |
